Administrator - Crystal Altland, PCHA

Crystal earned her license in Personal Care Home Administration from Penn State Lancaster Campus and has been serving in that role at Polk PCC since June 2011.   Her career history spans over two decades in many relevant areas of healthcare for seniors including managing the business office of a healthcare provider and recruiting therapists to staff the campuses of a growing nonprofit organization.  In the years just prior to her employment with Polk PCC, Crystal’s position as a long-term care Admissions Coordinator in the community allowed her to work directly with local families to coordinate the care of their loved ones.

Crystal also holds membership with the PCHA, PALA & NACAL.

judy-lahr

Resident Care Manager - Judy Lahr, LPN

Judy earned her license in practical nursing from Danville School of Nursing. She worked as the Office Manager for a busy physician’s practice for decades before coming to Polk PCC May of 2015. Judy’s many years of experience in that position complement her role as the facility’s Resident Care Manager. She works with residents, families and other support systems, therapists, and physicians to coordinate individual resident care.

Judy and her husband reside in Herndon.

Business Office Manager - Angela Kohler

Angie began her career as a part-time receptionist for local attorney Allen Shaffer, who was instrumental in establishing the Charles P. & Margaret E. Polk Foundation. She earned her degree as a Legal Assistant from Harrisburg Area Community College. In 2004, Angie transitioned to the Polk PCC where she currently is the Business Office Manager for the Polk Foundation. She holds a PCH Administrator certification and is a commissioned notary public. She is responsible for many aspects of the daily operations of the personal care home as well as the independent living apartments.

Head Chef - Brad Bixler

Brad has worked in the food service industry for over twenty years. He earned a Certificate in Culinary Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1999.  Prior to joining Polk PCC in March of 2015, he held several positions in many different venues including private restaurants, large hotels, and a bed and breakfast. Brad oversees all operations of the kitchen at Polk PCC.

Brad resides in Millersburg with his wife and two sons.
